Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 23, 2026

1. Introduction

Huewis LLC, doing business as BeanFM ("BeanFM," "we," "us," or "our"), operates a web application that helps people create and play soundscapes for pet desensitization sessions. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and protect information when you use BeanFM.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide

When you create an account, we collect your email address. We also process the password you choose, storing it in hashed form rather than as plain text.

When you create or update a pet profile, we collect the information you enter, such as your pet's name, breed, age, sound preferences, selected soundscapes, blocked sound tags, and an optional profile photo.

If you are an administrator who uploads content, we collect the audio files, images, filenames, licensing and provenance information, and other metadata you provide for that content.

Information created through your use

We record listening activity, including the pet profile and soundscape used, the sound and tag selected, and when playback occurred. We use this information to operate soundscapes and avoid repeating recently played sounds.

Usage analytics

Our website records how you use it, such as pages viewed, buttons and links clicked, and recordings of how pages change during a visit, with the values you type into form fields masked. We use this to understand which parts of BeanFM are useful and where people run into trouble. See PostHog under Service Providers below.

Technical and account information

We create anonymous and authenticated sessions to provide access to BeanFM. Our service processes session information, including hashed refresh tokens, IP address, user-agent information, and session timestamps. The browser stores access and refresh tokens in local storage so that your session can continue between page loads.

3. How We Use Information

We use the information described above to:

  • provide, maintain, secure, and improve BeanFM;
  • create and manage accounts, verify email addresses, and respond to account requests;
  • save pet profiles, soundscape settings, and playback history;
  • process and deliver uploaded images and administrator-provided audio content;
  • send account-verification and password-reset emails;
  • detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, security incidents, and technical problems; and
  • comply with applicable legal obligations and enforce our terms.

4. Service Providers and Disclosures

We use service providers that process information for the purposes described in this policy, including:

  • Resend, which delivers account-verification and password-reset emails;
  • Cloudflare R2-compatible object storage, which stores uploaded images and audio assets;
  • Sentry, which receives error reports from our website and servers, including technical details such as the page or request involved, browser and device information, and the error itself, so we can find and fix problems;
  • PostHog, which receives product analytics from our website, including the pages you visit, the buttons and links you click, the referring website, approximate location derived from your IP address, browser and device information, your account ID if you are signed in, and session recordings of how pages change as you use them (with typed values masked), so we can understand how BeanFM is used and improve it; and
  • OpenAI, when an administrator chooses the optional AI-assisted feature that generates audio metadata from an uploaded audio file.

We may also disclose information when required by law, to protect the rights, safety, and security of BeanFM, our users, or others, or in connection with a business transaction such as a merger, financing, acquisition, or sale of assets.

We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising.

5. Data Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide BeanFM, maintain security and records, resolve disputes, and meet legal obligations. The appropriate retention period depends on the type of information and the reason we collected it. For example, we retain account and associated pet-profile information while an account remains active, unless deletion is requested or a longer retention period is required.

6. Your Choices and Requests

You may update pet-profile information through BeanFM. You may also contact us to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information, subject to applicable law and our need to retain certain information for legitimate legal, security, or operational reasons.

To make a privacy request or ask a question about this policy, email [email protected].

7. Security

We use reasonable technical and organizational measures designed to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Children's Privacy

BeanFM is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, please contact us at [email protected].

9. International Users

Huewis LLC is organized in Wyoming, United States. If you access BeanFM from outside the United States, your information may be processed in the United States and other locations where our service providers operate.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of BeanFM after an update is subject to the updated policy.
